The first Indian MLBB team at MSC 2026. Losses to Team Vitality and Guangzhou Gaming ended our Paris run — but India's arrival on the world stage doesn't end with a scoreline.

Our Historic MSC 2026 Run Ends in Paris — But India Has Only Just Arrived

For years, Indian esports has been recognised globally through BGMI and Free Fire. But in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, India had never stood on the world's biggest stage.

On 22 July 2026, that changed. True Rippers became the first Indian MLBB team to represent the nation at the Mid Season Cup, competing at the Esports World Cup in Paris against the best 16 teams on the planet.

Our campaign ended sooner than we wanted. We're going to tell you about it honestly — the losses, what we learned, and why we're walking away more certain than ever that we belong here.

Day 1: Team Vitality

We couldn't have drawn a harder opening. Across the stage stood Team Vitality (Bigetron by Vitality) — MPL Indonesia Season 17 champions, one of the highest-ranked rosters in the world, from a region that has dominated this game for a decade.

Game 1 was brutal. They closed it out in 9 minutes and 50 seconds on Flying Cloud. Nine minutes. There is no way to dress that up, and we won't try. They punished every read, every rotation, every hesitation — instantly. That is what world-class pressure feels like, and until you've stood in it, you cannot train for it.

Game 2 was a different team wearing our jersey.

On Dangerous Grass, we settled. We stopped reacting and started dictating. For 21 minutes and 58 seconds we went blow for blow with a tournament favourite — contesting Lords, trading Turtles, forcing fights on our terms. There were stretches where it genuinely felt like it was slipping away from them.

Vitality eventually closed it. But the distance we travelled between Game 1 and Game 2 — nine minutes to twenty-two, from overwhelmed to competitive — happened inside a single series, on debut, on the biggest stage this game has.

Final: True Rippers 0–2 Team Vitality

For context on the level: every single Group A series on Day 1 ended 2–0. Vamos over Falcons MENA, Falcons PH over Guangzhou, Vitality over us, Spirit over IGNITE. Four matches, four sweeps, not one decider. That was the tournament's opening statement to everybody.

Day 3: Elimination against Guangzhou Gaming

Group A runs double elimination, so Day 1 didn't end us. On 24 July at 14:30 IST, we returned to face Guangzhou Gaming — China's first ever MSC representatives, who arrived in exactly our position after being swept by Falcons PH.

Two debutant nations. Two teams with one loss. One survivor.

Game 1 went to Guangzhou in 12 minutes and 22 seconds on Flying Cloud. Game 2 we stretched to 17 minutes and 4 seconds on Broken Walls — longer, closer, more of the version of us we wanted the world to see. It wasn't enough.

Final: True Rippers 0–2 Guangzhou Gaming

And with that, our first MSC campaign was over. We finished the tournament in the 13th–16th bracket alongside IGNITE Gaming, Geekay Esports, and — remarkably — Team Liquid PH, the defending MSC champions, who were also eliminated in the group stage.

Here's a detail worth sitting with: the team that knocked us out went on to take Team Spirit to a full three games in the Lower Bracket Semifinal, losing 1–2 and falling one series short of the Knockout Stage. Guangzhou weren't a soft draw. They were a legitimate contender who fell at the same door we did.

What we're actually taking home

We're not going to pretend an 0–4 game record is a good result. It isn't. We came to win, and we didn't.

But two things are true at the same time, and both matter.

The gap is real. MPL Indonesia, MPL Philippines and the established regions have a decade of infrastructure, bootcamps, coaching depth and international Bo5 reps behind them. India's competitive MLBB scene is measured in months, not years. Reaching Paris was step one. Competing there exposed exactly where the distance lies — draft flexibility, tempo control, and composure under stage pressure. We know precisely what to work on now, because we felt it rather than read about it.

And the gap is closable. Game 2 against Vitality wasn't luck. That was five players adapting to the highest level of Mobile Legends in real time, inside forty minutes. Nobody has to imagine whether Indian talent can hang at this level — there's footage of it now.

Thank you

To everyone who stayed up, who filled the chats, who sent messages after both losses instead of only after wins — you turned a debut into an event. We weren't playing for ourselves out there. We were carrying a scene that has waited years for this.

Rehansyah, IYanZz, Asuna, Kyle, Kimyy — with Duba and Zen — walked onto a stage no Indian MLBB roster had reached before. That doesn't get undone by a scoreline.

We won ML Masters Series Season 1. We qualified for the world stage. We stood on it. And every Indian player watching now knows that door exists, because we walked through it first.

India has arrived. This is only the beginning. 🇮🇳
